The 16 days of Activism campaign against Gender-Based violence follows the 2020 UNiTE campaign theme \u2018Orange the world : Fund , Respond , prevent , collect\u2019 which is an apt and relevant theme that shall be focused across the globe by women\u2019s\u00a0 groups, feminist organisations, gender-justice fraternity, faith groups , civil society organisations and corporate women leaders to once again reiterate that the\u00a0violence against women and gender-based discrimination should end. This has been a\u00a0 special campaign as United Nations Secretary Generals Campaign. This year it becomes all the more relevant and critical as\u00a0the Covid-19 Pandemic\u00a0reports showed an\u00a0alarming increase in the already existing pandemic of violence against women\/ gender minorities, widely termed as the \u2018Shadow pandemic\u2019.<\/p>\n
Beginning on the 25th <\/sup>of November,2020, on the International Day for the Elimination\u00a0of Violence against women and runs until 10th<\/sup>\u00a0December,2020, that marks the Human Rights Day, this is one more occasion to remind Church, church related institutions, communities, civil societies and corporates that violence against women and sexual minorities can\u2019t go on. We have to make the issue of \u2018violence\u00a0against women\u2019 a history during our life time and focus on the agency of women and sexual minorities which have the power to transform this world into a beautiful place. The 16 days of activism was started by\u00a0activists\u00a0at the inaugural of Women\u2019s Global Leadership Institute in 1991 and continues to be co-ordinated each year, by the Centre for Women\u2019s Global Leadership.
