| CASA contributes to the Himachal Pradesh Dist.Disaster Management Plan, Kullu |
We are pleased to inform you that CASA has substantially contributed to the recently published District Disaster Management plan jointly prepared by Kullu District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Himachal Pradesh . In the document you can see the contribution of our apex PAT unit CSK (Chetna Samiti Kullu) in Kullu, local CASA unit and Mountain Forum Himalayas (an effort of CASA in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) in preparing this district disaster management plan and a separate chapter dedicated to CASA’s PROPOSAL OF DISASTER YOUTH VOLUNTEER on page 197. You can also see Chapter – 6.3, Resource plan, Page – 40-42, where special emphasis has been given in emergency situations, to adhere to the principles of “DO NO HARM’, which is a key approach of CASA’s Local Capacities for Peace (LCP).

 Core Group Meeting, 22nd – 24th April ’09, Geneva.
Recently core group has come together from 22nd – 24th April ’09 at Geneva to finalize the document/ resources to be presented in the form of guide at Argentina in May 09 and also to discuss about future plans to carry forward the initiatives in Malawi, India, Guatemala, Brazil and Ethiopia. CASA has been represented by Mr. Jayant Kumar, HOP and Anita Kukreti, Project Officer.
