| CASA contributes to the Himachal Pradesh Dist.Disaster Management Plan, Kullu |
We are pleased to inform you that CASA has substantially contributed to the recently published District Disaster Management plan jointly prepared by Kullu District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Himachal Pradesh . In the document you can see the contribution of our apex PAT unit CSK (Chetna Samiti Kullu) in Kullu, local CASA unit and Mountain Forum Himalayas (an effort of CASA in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) in preparing this district disaster management plan and a separate chapter dedicated to CASA’s PROPOSAL OF DISASTER YOUTH VOLUNTEER on page 197. You can also see Chapter – 6.3, Resource plan, Page – 40-42, where special emphasis has been given in emergency situations, to adhere to the principles of “DO NO HARM’, which is a key approach of CASA’s Local Capacities for Peace (LCP).

PRESS RELEASE 1 : NATIONAL BOARD OF CASA CONDEMNS THE TERROR ATTACKS IN MUMBAI Press Release NATIONAL BOARD OF CASA CONDEMNS THE TERROR ATTACKS IN MUMBAI The CASA National Board, comprising of the Protestant and the Orthodox Churches in India, which met for its annual session on 28 November 2008 in New Delhi, is saddened to note the recent happenings in Mumbai inflicting pain and anguish on innocent people and the larger community of the Nation, and condemns these cowardly acts. The Board expresses its utmost concern at this growing violence against humanity and calls upon the public to do all that is within their power to support the Government and especially the military, navy and police forces who are defending the lives of the people risking their own. We express our heartfelt condolence to the families of the brave police officers who laid down their lives for the security of the people of the country. We call upon the State to give due recognition to these martyrs. This is the time when we, as a nation, should be united beyond the borders of religion, politics, ethnicity and region.
