| CASA contributes to the Himachal Pradesh Dist.Disaster Management Plan, Kullu |
We are pleased to inform you that CASA has substantially contributed to the recently published District Disaster Management plan jointly prepared by Kullu District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Himachal Pradesh . In the document you can see the contribution of our apex PAT unit CSK (Chetna Samiti Kullu) in Kullu, local CASA unit and Mountain Forum Himalayas (an effort of CASA in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) in preparing this district disaster management plan and a separate chapter dedicated to CASA’s PROPOSAL OF DISASTER YOUTH VOLUNTEER on page 197. You can also see Chapter – 6.3, Resource plan, Page – 40-42, where special emphasis has been given in emergency situations, to adhere to the principles of “DO NO HARM’, which is a key approach of CASA’s Local Capacities for Peace (LCP).

| Participation in ACT Development Global workshop at the Stuttgart, Germany |

ACT Development has initiated a global project on Impact Assessment with an aim to establish common principles and a methodological framework to assess and communicate the outcomes and impact of the work of ACT-D participants to overcome poverty and injustice. ACT-D has organised a global workshop from Nov. 03 - Nov. 08, 2008 at Stuttgart, Germany with an aim to exchange strengths and weaknesses of current practices and agree possible ways to improve approaches in the form of principles and methodologies. During the workshop, self assessment tool and toolkit methodologies have been introduced to facilitate good practice in outcome evaluation and impact assessment. Agreement has also been built among ACT-D participants on principles for strengthening the organisation to undertake evaluation and impact assessment. The workshop has been attended by Mr. Jayant Kumar, HOP, Anita Kukreti (Project Officer) and Mr. Rajat (Sr. Programme Co-ordinator).
