The TOT of the NGTF (National Gender Task Force) of CASA and the Workshop on Perspective and Capacity Building of the ZGTF (Zonal Gender Task Force) on Gender has been successfully completed on the 23rd August 2008.  This programme was organised by CASA at the YMCA, Goa during 18-23 August 2008.  It was participated by 10 NGTF members including the team leader Mrs. Sheila Jones and approximately 30 ZGTF members drawn from all the 4 zones of CASA. Ms. Beulah Azariah, from the IWID (Initiatives for Women in Development), Chennai was the external facilitator and trainer of the TOT.

It was a TOT for the NGTF members and a Perspective building workshop for the ZGTF members on Gender issues.  The entire workshop was conducted in two batches, the first batch comprising of East and North Zone, whereas the second was with South and West zone of CASA.  The excellent facilitation skill from Ms. Beulah curved out the best out of the NGTF members who conducted the workshop for the ZGTF members.  There was only 2 days for each zone and so much to be covered including conceptual clarity on Gender, an update on CASA’s Gender Mainstreaming process, introducing the Gender Policy of CASA, Role profiling of GTF members & Plan of Action.  Therefore, we had very long sessions stretching up to post dinner sessions.

But due to the excellent facilitator Ms. Beulah, we completed this 5 days, tiring training programme   successfully.  Specific Role Profiling has been done for the GTF members and a SMART Plan (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Time bound) was chalked out for the next 6 months for the Gender Mainstreaming process of CASA.  This is the first ToT of the NGTF on Gender and we are hoping for the best.
