| CASA contributes to the Himachal Pradesh Dist.Disaster Management Plan, Kullu |
We are pleased to inform you that CASA has substantially contributed to the recently published District Disaster Management plan jointly prepared by Kullu District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Himachal Pradesh . In the document you can see the contribution of our apex PAT unit CSK (Chetna Samiti Kullu) in Kullu, local CASA unit and Mountain Forum Himalayas (an effort of CASA in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) in preparing this district disaster management plan and a separate chapter dedicated to CASA’s PROPOSAL OF DISASTER YOUTH VOLUNTEER on page 197. You can also see Chapter – 6.3, Resource plan, Page – 40-42, where special emphasis has been given in emergency situations, to adhere to the principles of “DO NO HARM’, which is a key approach of CASA’s Local Capacities for Peace (LCP).

| BISHOP SAGAR VISITS CASA |

After having a meeting with the Director, CASA, Dr. Sushant Agrawal, a meeting was arranged in the conference hall of CASA with all the Headquarters-staff. It is appropriate to mention here that Bishop Sagar is one of the senior Bishops of the Methodist Church and is based in Bangalore. Before entering into Episcopacy he was the General Secretary of the Methodist Church in India. The West Zonal Office of CASA is functioning from the Methodist Centre in Mumbai and he has been a well wisher of CASA for a very long time. Bishop Sagar got elected as the President of NCCI in the recently concluded XXVI Quadrennial Assembly of NCCI at Shilong during 30th April to 4th May 2008. CASA felicitated Bishop Sagar with a Bouquet and a shawl and thanked Bishop D.K.Sahu for accompanying the President, NCCI to CASA. CASA looks forward to working together with the NCCI in the future.
