| Urmila Devi - Bihar Floods |
Why did I let my Husband go? Urmila Devi is left with her three children Anshu (4), Anu (2) and Tintu Kumar (1). It was not an easy task for Madan Jadav to save his wife and three children that night when Kosi hit their village mercilessly. After starving for two days they reached the relief camp run by CASA at Bhelwa in Gamaria Block in Madhepura district. Out of concern for the house and curiosity to see the water level in their village called Kusaha, 30 kilometres away in district Supaul, Jadav left the relief camp, walking on the neck-level water and he never returned. Now Tintu is seriously ill and there is no healthcare facility available in the camp. Providing food and essential materials to sustain lives in relief camps itself is a challenge; it is further more challenging to be with mothers like Urmila who struggles between caring her children and enquiring about her lost husband. CASA invites committed volunteers who can be with these families to facilitate meaningful rehabilitation. It is a challenge; but it will be fulfilling experience! Come and join us…
