| CASA contributes to the Himachal Pradesh Dist.Disaster Management Plan, Kullu |
We are pleased to inform you that CASA has substantially contributed to the recently published District Disaster Management plan jointly prepared by Kullu District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Himachal Pradesh . In the document you can see the contribution of our apex PAT unit CSK (Chetna Samiti Kullu) in Kullu, local CASA unit and Mountain Forum Himalayas (an effort of CASA in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) in preparing this district disaster management plan and a separate chapter dedicated to CASA’s PROPOSAL OF DISASTER YOUTH VOLUNTEER on page 197. You can also see Chapter – 6.3, Resource plan, Page – 40-42, where special emphasis has been given in emergency situations, to adhere to the principles of “DO NO HARM’, which is a key approach of CASA’s Local Capacities for Peace (LCP).

| Caring for Kadamlal Yadav |

Following the Kosi floods, old and haggard Kadamlal Yadav – of Harihar Patti village in Supaul district- having lost his house and livestock, was surviving only on chura (roasted gram flour), raw rice and rain water for the past 12 days, and unable to even walk properly due to weakness. Supported by his relatives, and rescued by the Army fortunately, Kadamlal is safe and surviving now- awaiting food and necessary medical assistance in the relief camp of CASA.
