| CASA contributes to the Himachal Pradesh Dist.Disaster Management Plan, Kullu |
We are pleased to inform you that CASA has substantially contributed to the recently published District Disaster Management plan jointly prepared by Kullu District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Himachal Pradesh . In the document you can see the contribution of our apex PAT unit CSK (Chetna Samiti Kullu) in Kullu, local CASA unit and Mountain Forum Himalayas (an effort of CASA in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) in preparing this district disaster management plan and a separate chapter dedicated to CASA’s PROPOSAL OF DISASTER YOUTH VOLUNTEER on page 197. You can also see Chapter – 6.3, Resource plan, Page – 40-42, where special emphasis has been given in emergency situations, to adhere to the principles of “DO NO HARM’, which is a key approach of CASA’s Local Capacities for Peace (LCP).

New Delhi (6th October, 2008) : On invitation from CASA, Shri. Kamal Faruqui, Chairperson, Delhi Minority Commission along with his team members Shri. Pushpinder Singh & Shri. Arnold James visited CASA Headquarters today. In an hour long meeting with the Delhi Minority Commission, the Director of CASA, Dr. Sushant Agrawal along with his staff interacted with the Commission about it’s work. He apprised the Commission about CASA’s 61 years of service to the humankind and the present focus of the organisation, which is to work for the development of the poorest of the poor and the marginalised sections of our society including the minority groups irrespective of caste, creed, colour, sex or religion.CASA's Newsletter
