CASA CONDUCTS TRAINING OF TRAINERS (TOT) ON SEARCH AND RESCUE.
 
 
CASA recently conducted Training of Trainers (ToT) on Search and Rescue for the youth (both boys and girls) in Himachal and Uttranchal. These Trainees will conduct further trainings in high altitude Himalayan regions and deep interior areas in the mountains including the glacial region. Negotiations have been initiated with ITBP and Police forces for joint training initiatives in the above region.

Emergency Situation:
 
A deep depression that was formed over the Bay of Bengal developed into a cyclone and hit the state of West Bengal on the 25th of May 2009. The speed of the wind at some points were recorded at 120 kmph against the normal wind speeds of 10-15 kmph in Kolkata. MEASURES FOR CYCLONE AILA VICTIMS
 
On Tuesday- 26th May, 2009, Cyclone “AILA” with the wind speed upto 100 kph wreaked Kolkata and Southern parts of West Bengal (Howrah, Vardhman and 24 Paraganas districts particularly) and some other neighboring places too. Over 60 people have been killed and thousands rendered homeless following this wrath of nature in form of Cyclone AILA as per reports received so far.
