HAP Survey: Perceptions of Accountability
CASA is pleased to announce the reconstitution and formation of the National Board and various other committees at the national level, as well as Zonal Committee of East, South and West Zones for the quadrennium 2011-2014. The Society of CASA, as per the Constitution, forms the National Board once in 4 years, and the National Board elects the Officers of CASA and also approves the reconstitution of the Zonal Committees with the participation of the member Churches....

Today, HAP International welcomes Dr Raven-Roberts as its new Executive Director.

Dr Raven-Roberts has over twenty years experience in the international humanitarian and development field, as a practitioner and advocate within the United Nations and the NGOs community, as well as an academic. She began her international career in Papua New Guinea with Voluntary Services Overseas and managed humanitarian and development programmes for Oxfam America and Save the Children USA in Ethiopia for several years. In 1991, she joined UNICEF in New York as a Senior Project Officer in the Office of Emergency Programmes, where she was responsible for policy development in gender and conflict issues, post-conflict recovery programmes and internally displaced children. Inauguration of houses/ core shelters constructed by CASA
For the victims of Cloud Burst in Leh

Following the devastating flash floods caused by the sudden cloud burst in Leh, CASA had immediately pressed its team into action to render immediate relief to the victims.

Besides providing relief in form of blankets, hygienic kits, solar lights and utensils etc., CASA undertook construction of concrete earthquake resistant/ solar passive houses for the victims in Achinathang village in Leh.

These houses were formally inaugurated by Mr. Sonam Dorjey (Executive Councillor – Leh) and Dr. Sushant Agrawal (Director, CASA) in the presence of SDM and other government officials in a function organised for the purpose in Leh on 16th December 2010. Mr. Nirmal J. Singh (Head of Emergency) ...

CANCUN: SEAL THE DEAL, ACT ALLIANCE DEMANDS
HAP Survey: Perceptions of Accountability
Geneva, November 26 2010. One of the worlds largest humanitarian and development networks is demanding heads of state lay the groundwork for a legally binding climate agreement in Cancun next week for the sake of the world’s poor and powerless.

The demand was issued by ACT Alliance General Secretary John Nduna in the countdown to the Cop16 climate negotiations beginning in Mexico on November 29. "The poor bear the least responsibility for climate change yet suffer its consequences the most," Nduna said.

We are pleased to announce that the National Board of CASA and all other related Committees viz. Executive Committee, Finance Committee and Personnel Committee met at CASA’s office in New Delhi on 23rd & 24th November 2010, and have successfully completed its term of the present Quadrennial. The CASA Society meeting in early 2011, will form a new Board and also elect the new members of the Board as well as various other Committees linked to the new Board. It was early this year (March 24, 2010) the ACT Alliance emerged as the largest ecumenical coalition to respond to long term development issues and to provide Humanitarian Aid assistance in emergency situation.
